What’s needed to adopt an animal from the shelter:
To be over 18 Bring DNI or passport. Accept the terms of the contract, including any follow up that the association might carry out. Payment of 120 Euros for a dog and 70 Euros for a cat as a contribution to veterinary expenses for vaccination, parasite control, microchip and sterilization.
Adoptions by pensioners:
According to studies carried out, it has been demonstrated that the company of an animal in a home where pensioners live alone benefits the adoptant because of the responsibilities that having a pet carry with it.
Why is so positive to own a pet? Because in many cases senior citizens are alone. As well as being company for each other, the fact that the pet has to be taken out for walks, etc., results in meeting more people and spending more time out of the house, becoming more extroverted. Taking out a dog also introduces a routine of gentle exercise which is highly beneficial for people of all ages but specially for the over 60’s. Agreement with the FUNDACIÓN AFFINITY, campaign ADOPTIONS FOR THE OURS SENIORS. Our association participates in the Affinity campaign promoting adoptions for pensioners. At the time of the adoption we take a photocopy of the D.N.I. And forward it to the Affinity foundation. Affinity will send the adoptant vouchers which can be exchanged for food or veterinary attention for the pet in any registered veterinary practice. This is aimed to offsetting in part the cost of adopting a pet from a shelter, is not available to animal shops.
Special adoptions:
If you adopt an animal with special needs from our shelter, either an animal with an illness or an aged pet, the cost of the adoption is taken over by the shelter, all the other conditions remain the same. |
